 · Posted: Wed pm Post subject: Beta ATI fglrx driver - Xserver support hello it seems ati has published a beta catalyst driver with xserver support. it should be available on ubuntu's repository. has anybody tried it and/or made an ebuild for it? Note: This How To is valid up to Catalyst Driver version Note: With minor changes this How To may work for other Linux distributions like Mandriva, Suse, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Cent OS etc. Quick instructions for trying Unity with the new beta fglrx driver. fglrx beta driver. The latest beta version of the driver has been uploaded in the Ubuntu archive.

Step 6: Generate initial Xorg configuration file. Note: This step is optional with Catalyst Driver version , but it wont harm even if you execute this. You have to generate the initial www.doorway.ru file which will use fglrx as display device. It appears to me that amdcccle (package: fglrx-contol) is not included with the AMD beta drivers installed with steamOS. This package is extreamly important to those with a multimonitor setup. It is too difficult / arduous to manaually configure www.doorway.ru for those with multiple monitors. Especially those with something like a PLP setup. It now hangs the latest desktop system intermittently (which it did NOT do before setting up the card by installing the latest official beta Catalyst drivers on Ubuntu - and also this behaviour was not observed with the previous Ubuntu release installed with the previous up-to-date Catalyst Beta driver supported for Ubuntu ).

Eagle graphical glitch with fglrx drivers on Linux Running Catalyst Drivers beta (Xorg not supported with stable drivers). Nov Beta versions: Removing the AMD "Testing" watermark If all is right, the fglrx driver that corresponds to AMD/ATI Catalyst will be installed and working. This driver is based on the fglrx release, and it improves support for Ubuntu LTS. Beta versions: Removing the AMD "Testing" watermark.
